Sarah Palin is the Future
It was like red meat to the Democrats. They took the bait and now they're trapped.
Sarah Palin exemplifies personal morality, public integrity, proven executive leadership and charisma. If John McCain wins this election, Palin will be the presumptive Republican nominee in 2012 or 2016, and at that point she will have become the most experienced female candidate for president in history.
Palin is proof that it's possible to have it all. That's the reason that liberals hate her and reacted viscerally to her selection as the Republican Party's nominee for vice president. They want to destroy her before she has a chance to connect directly with the American people.
With a spectacular career, a loving marriage of twenty years, no divorces and five beautiful kids, she talks the talk and walks the walk.
No village. Just a family that loves and nurtures all of its gifts. The beautiful baby boy with Down Syndrome. The "unplanned" grandchild. All are welcomed with open arms.
Proof of parental neglect, the Democrats scream. Hardly. Just a recognition that life is what happens while you're making other plans.
No family in the history of American politics has been perfect. Ask Bill and Hillary, Lyndon and Lady Bird, Jack and Jackie, Franklin and Eleanor.
Did anyone ever question the ability of those men to raise a family while they were president?
Of course, with the exception of Lyndon, who was an accident of history, they all attended Ivy League schools. Even Bill, though he hailed from Arkansas, was nurtured by the Eastern Establishment.
Sarah's a rube from Idaho and Alaska and we don't know her, the liberals guffaw. It's preposterous! She should stay home and take care of those kids.
And besides, if there's going to be a female president, she must be from Harvard, Yale, or Princeton, pro abortion, pro nationalized health insurance, and she should talk like us.
Oops. Too late. Now you've insulted at least half of the women in America and you've looked like a pack of jackals while doing it.
And what will happen when the American people meet Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and discover that she's competent, accomplished, popular, and has more governing experience than Joe Biden and Barack Obama combined?
She took on the corrupt Republican establishment in Alaska, ousted them from power, got elected the youngest governor ever of that state, and has an 80% approval rating.
She negotiated and signed into law a $40 billion bill to build a trans-Alaska natural gas pipeline to transmit gas from the North Slope to the lower forty-eight. In her interview on CNBC's "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo", (watch it on CNBC.com) she demonstrates fluency in energy production and environmental protection, which the American people are going to love.
They'll look at the Democrats' misogynistic scandal machine and wonder why it was necessary to attack, harass and insult this and all other women by making the absurd claim that Palin is less qualified to be vice president than is Obama to be president.
Perhaps they'll remember that the liberals sneered at Ronald Reagan as a "grade B movie star". He went on to rescue America from the disastrous Johnson, Nixon, Carter years, ignited an economic expansion and the longest bull market in history, and destroyed the Soviet Union in the process.
Sarah Palin has the potential to be her generation's Ronald Reagan.
The Republican Party should seize this moment, get off its heels, stop apologizing for the past and fight for the future.
Sarah Palin is that future. Embrace her.
